Our 18th annual benefit, A Night to Embrace Elyssa’s Mission is Thursday, July 17th from 6-9pm at the Glen Club in Glenview. We hope that you will consider attending and sponsoring this important event.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people ages 10-34 (CDC, 2022). To challenge this statistic, Elyssa’s Mission has taken a leadership role in Illinois by educating school communities on depression and suicide. Since inception, we have educated well over one million students, parents, school staff and community members. We currently partner with over 325 middle and high schools spanning 20 counties and 135 suburbs throughout Illinois.
Elyssa’s Mission fully funds and implements evidence-based suicide prevention programs in middle and high schools, providing hands-on support with planning, training, program implementation and data analysis to ensure program success. The SOS program not only educates teens on warning signs and what to do if they are concerned about themselves or a friend but further helps identify at-risk students and link them to essential mental health services.
Your partnership enables Elyssa’s Mission to continue to provide the programs and resources so urgently needed. Currently, we partner with over 325 schools, growing at a rate of 20-25 new schools a year. With your sponsorship, we will be able to expand our reach even further.
Elyssa’s Mission envisions making mental health and suicide awareness a comfortable and open topic of conversation, creating a culture of understanding and support that encourages people to seek help.
